For treatment and documentation
Every patient
Anatomical, not flat.
RING is an intraoral lip and cheek retractor. Developed in Germany by two practicing dentists. Dr. Domonkos Horvath, inventor of an entire product category, today a globally established standard for lip and cheek retraction with over 100 million clinical applications in more than 130 countries. And Dr. Sebastian Horvath, board-certified specialist in prosthodontics (DGPro) and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania.
RING is what it becomes. A flat polypropylene component that turns into a three-dimensional ring upon insertion and takes on its anatomical shape inside the mouth. Stepless adjustment to every patient. Secure fit even with the mouth closed. Inserted in seconds, both hands free on the patient.
What you really buy is the open field. For the whole treatment and for the documentation. Sight for the eye, the scanner and the camera, with a view of the whole arch. Steplessly adjusted to patient and indication. Both hands free on the patient.
One size. No sorting. Place it and work. Easier for the practitioner. Comfortable for the patient.
RING is named for what it becomes. A flat polypropylene part that closes into a three-dimensional ring and takes its anatomical shape in the mouth. A geometry that follows the anatomy of the mouth, instead of forcing it.
The second innovation is structural. Conventional retractors are made of two polypropylene rings joined by a thermoplastic elastomer membrane. RING has no such membrane. Thin polypropylene struts flex where the membrane would. One single polymer for the entire product. Smooth, form-stable and transparent. No membrane also means no pocket behind it, no place for saliva to collect. RING comes out the way it went in.
Panoramic buccal access for the eye, the scanner and the camera. Mono-material in smooth polypropylene. Engineered for the intraoral scan and precise detail work.
One size, steplessly adjustable. For every patient and Every patient. Soft for dental hygiene to wide-open for scan, photo and video.
Secure fit even with mouth closed and bite scans. Built so it doesn't fall out.
A single medical-grade polypropylene, smooth and transparent. Recyclable, one recycling stream. Scanner and instruments glide, nothing catches.
Anatomical shape instead of pressure. Patients forget the ring.
2.78 g per device. Lighter than a paper plane.
The smiley on RING marks the center of the ring. During insertion it points down, toward the lower anterior jaw - engineered for intuitive orientation. Once placed, it rests on the lower lip, easy to see from your working position. This is its second job: the smiley check. One look is enough: hidden behind the lip? Then RING is not placed right, and the comfort is gone. Smiley visible? Then the inner ring lies on the lips in the front - RING is placed exactly right. Gentle and comfortable, for the whole treatment.
RING is the subject of an international patent application (PCT), covering both its geometric principle and its structural innovation.
In the Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2026, RING won a Red Dot for high design quality.
STEP 1
Insert the pin into the sleeve to form a ring. Push the pin all the way through so the ring sits at its smallest size.
STEP 2
Place your thumb on the smiley. The smiley marks the center of the ring and points toward the lower anterior jaw once inserted. Grasp the opposite side at the closure and compress. The lateral loops (ears) bow outward.
STEP 3
Guide the compressed ring into the mouth. Place the two loops one after the other behind the left and right corners of the mouth. The smiley faces the lower anterior jaw.
STEP 4
Bring the pin forward, just in front of the upper lip, and pull pin and sleeve apart in full view. Pin and sleeve glide against each other and the ring expands evenly to the desired tissue retraction.
The one thing to know about RING.
In the front, upper and lower, the inner ring lies on the lips. On them, not behind them.
The smiley is the visual comfort check. You should see it resting on the lower lip - directly from your working position. Hidden behind the lip? RING is not placed right, and the comfort is gone. Smiley visible? RING is placed exactly right - gentle and comfortable, for the whole treatment.
The one thing to know about RING.
That works because RING holds from the cheeks. The anatomical shape anchors left and right - not in the front.
