VAT and VAT ID

1. In short

Our prices are net. At checkout we add the VAT of your delivery country, and your invoice shows it separately. A VAT ID is optional. Orders from Germany carry 19 percent German VAT.

2. No VAT ID? No problem

Choose “No” in the order form. We add the VAT of your delivery country, for example 20 percent for Austria or 21 percent for Spain. For you that means one price, one invoice, VAT included at your country’s rate, and no forms with us.

3. Where does the VAT go?

Through the EU One-Stop-Shop (OSS). It is the procedure that lets a seller in one EU country declare and pay the VAT of customers in other EU countries centrally. We collect the VAT of your country with your order and pass it on to the tax authority of your country through the OSS. That is our job, not yours.

4. Have a VAT ID? Enter it

Choose “Yes” and enter the number. We check it against the official EU register while you order. With a confirmed number you pay net and account for VAT in your own country (reverse charge), as with any EU purchase between businesses. Not confirmed? You can correct the number or continue with VAT. The order goes through either way.

5. Check not confirmed? Usually a typo

The most common cause is a typo or a spelling that differs from the register, especially the company name. Enter name and address exactly as your practice is registered with your tax authority. You can check your number yourself in the official EU tool: ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/. Some countries also show name and address there, others only confirm whether the number is valid.
